Shooting my “Commercial”!

Hey Everyone!
I don’t have images to post right now, but I wanted to keep you posted on what’s going on.  Tomorrow I’m going to be filmed while shooting 2 brides.  I’m having a sort of “commercial” made for my seminar that is coming up.  I’m hoping it will be a fun tongue-in-cheek look at my day.  I don’t want to spill the beans, but my brides tomorrow are going to be helping me with some new concepts that I have that I’ve been wanting to try!  Stay tuned…..

I also wanted to keep you all up to date on the server issues we’ve been having.  I talked to my tech guy today, and he gave me really good news.  We should be back to 100% very soon.  Thanks to all of you guys who are waiting patiently to see your images.  Please know that we are working diligently to get all of your images out as soon as possible.  I know Melissa talked to you all, but we’ll be sending your gift certificates out soon.

Erica, Valerie, Deanna and Joni……I do intend on posting my favorites from your wedding soon!  With the server down and the trip to Chicago,  I had to put that on hold, but I’m really excited to post those soon!  You all had such great weddings, and I can’t wait to get some on here!

Thanks to all our wonderful Clients who support us!  I think we have the best clients in the world!

Congratulations Danielle St. Pierre & Ken!  They just booked their wedding with me for 07/07/07.  I know we are going to have fun together.  Keep jotting down your ideas for the upcoming shoots!

I photographed Dara About 2 weeks ago in Shreveport.  It was fun b/c Dara is a photographer too!  It’s actually a bit intimidating photographing other photographers.  We had a great time, and she was open for anything.  there are just a few of my favorites from the first half of the shoot.  I’m hoping to post more when I have time to get to the rest.

Hope you like them!

Pet Project

It’s been a whirlwind of a week! I spent Monday and Tuesday helping my videographer friend Josh Smith with a fashion shoot for Craig Taylor Shirts. It was so nice to do something totally different that I’m used to. The Model for the shoot was Lisa Bull. She flew in from Dallas for the shoot, and I must say, I didn’t know what to expect! Looking at her images before I met her made me a little nervous. I thought, “How will I even act around someone this beautiful!”. When she walked in to the studio, she had a humble air about her that put us all at ease! I’ve never seen someone so comfortable with the camera. With almost no instruction, she continued to stun me with how she knew exactly what to do. Josh did an amazing job capturing her……..all 3000 times! Which leads to my next topic…..our pet project. We had so much fun on this shoot, that we are throwing around the idea of getting into fashion photography. As if either one of us need another project! Anyway, we aren’t really sure what it will look like yet, or if it’s going to be something that will happen immediately, but it’s pretty exciting to think about.

Here is a snapshot of the website we’re getting to promote our new project

Here is Craig. He was such an amazing person to work with. He
totally changed my opinion of high fashion designers!

Josh did the shooting, but he let me steal the camera for a few!

Craig even gave me a couple shirts. This one is called, “Tie the Knot”…..coincidence? I think not.
I had to show Lisa my moves!

I look pretty stupid

I’m back home now, and I’ve had several days to reflect on what I learned last week. It’s so overwhelming to try to process all the information at once.
Tomorrow, I’m going to be in Monroe helping my friend Josh Smith with a photo shoot. I’m not exactly sure If I’m allowed to tell about who it’s for, but It’s a pretty big deal for him. We’re going to be working with a model who flew in for the shoot, a make-up/hair artist and the designer of the clothes line himself. I’ll have to check with him, but maybe I can post a few shots this week.

I had a guy from the Chicago seminar last week e-mail this picture to me. I think there comes a time in everyone’s life when they realize they don’t look quite as cool as they thought they did. I think I’ve come to that time. I’m not really sure why my mouth wants to look like Elvis, and do I really need to smash my nose that hard against the camera?? I mean seriously, I look like I’m in pain! I’ll have to work on my photographing face,

White Sox Game!

Last night I went to my first Major League Baseball game.  I felt stupid, b/c up until 30 minutes before we left for the game, I thought I was going to see the Cubs.  I didn’t care though, I really just went to socialize!  The best part is that they had an open dessert bar.  The Sox lost but we still had fun.  From there we drove around the city taking pictures like a bunch of photographer nerds.
Tonight……Navy Pier!

Here are a few of us at the game.  The blonde guy is the other Kelly Moore Photographer!  We could be brother and sister.  He says that 4 years ago he went to buy his domain name and I had already gotten it!  I think that I beat him by 2 months.  The funny thing is that he says he get’s inquiries from people all the time who are trying to contact me.

Learning in Chicago

Melissa & I flew out Sunday on our way to a week long seminar in Chicago.  Truthfully it was bittersweet to leave b/c we have so much work to do at the studio.  We were at the studio almost around the clock trying to catch up until we drove out Sunday for our flight.
We’re here now, and today has been a great day.  It was like sweet music to my ears when the first words out of Julia Woods  mouth were:  “Do you have balance in your life?”  Unfortunately, my answer was, “not so much”.  It was so nice to have a successfully photographer/ business woman tell you it’s OK leave the office.  The one thing that rang in my ears all day was, “When we are old and gray, and wedding photography is a thing of the past, what we have left is our relationship with our family and with God.”
Man, this year has been so amazing.  I never imagined I could have so much fun at a career.  Even after a full summer of nonstop shooting, I’m still more excited than ever to keep learning and growing as a photographer.  I just want to have balance in my life.  I’m a believer, and I say that Christ is the number one thing in my life…….do I really live that out?  I know that countless nights I’m up late working at the studio.  I know that’s not fair to my wonderful husband.  I hope this isn’t too much information…..I just wanted to voice all the things that were going through my head.  After all, isn’t this is what a blog is all about?
3 more days of learning to go and who knows how I’ll feel tomorrow night!

The hotel we’re staying in is pretty swanky!  We haven’t done much shooting yet, but Melissa and I couldn’t resist snapping a few shots with the cool modern decor…I told you I was vain!  Man I wish we had places like this in Ruston.

Have I mentioned how much I love doing this??!!!
