Hey Everyone! California was amazing, but I’m so glad to be home. Traveling always makes me realize how much I love home.
For anyone who has e-mailed or called me over the past week, thanks for your patience. For the first time ever, I actually took a vacation from work, e-mail, and even Internet 🙂 I have a two day photo shoot that is going to keep me out of the office Monday and Tuesday, so I’ll be answering email and phone calls Wednesday-Friday. I just wanted everyone to know I hadn’t forgotten you, and I’m going to get to them as soon as possible.

Well!!! Love Addict is almost here! My first annual kellymoore:love addict workshop will take place in Shreveport 2 weeks from tomorrow, and I’m so excited, I can’t stand it. I didn’t know what to expect, but I’ve been really pleased with sign ups. I do have a couple of spots left if there are any stragglers who are interested.

Handsome Kel and I flew into California yesterday to visit my brother Ross.  This is our first non wedding related vacation we’ve had together since our honeymoon!  It’s also, the longest vacation we’ve ever taken.  We won’t fly home until Friday the 26th.  We have had a great day with Ross and my sis in law Patricia.  They had a party for us last night with all their friends….we felt pretty special.  Today, we slept late, went out for breakfast, then cruised Hwy 1 along the coast to check out the amazing beaches.  What a great day;)

Kick Booty Crazies

I must say that this months get together of the Crazies was the most kick booty so far! We had dinner an a neat restaurant in Monroe called, The Chateau. Great food…really great atmosphere! After hanging there for a few hours, we all congregated at Josh Smith’s studio for some experimental shooting. We split off into groups, and went our separate ways to look for interesting lighting and shapes. It was a great exercise in looking for interesting shots in unexpected places. We stayed up way past my bedtime talking and sharing ideas and new techniques. I’m so glad to have this group; it is a much needed outlet for support and friendship in this competitive world of photography!
Here are a few of my favorites from last night…I can’t wait to see from all you guys who were there last night!

Us photographers think it’s ok to take over the street anytime we feel like it!

Colette & Nathan

I shot Colette & Nathan’s wedding this past weekend in Palestine, TX. I don’t cry much….my hubby says you have to poke me in the eye with a stick to get me to cry, but I actually got choked up during their ceremony. These two were so sweet to each other! It was really great to see a couple who couldn’t take their eyes off of each other.
Despite the rain, I had such a good time photographing these two. Their reception was in a cool old school house, so their were plenty of places to shoot. We actually spent 2 hours after the reception photographing just the two of them, so I had lots of time to experiment! For all of my 2007 bride and grooms…if you really want the amazing images, give me time!

Here are a few of my favorites.

Sometimes Handsome Kel shoots the groom! BTW, handsome kel did an amazing job helping me at this wedding!!

Josiah

I had the chance to shoot one of my good friends as well as fellow photographers Josiah yesterday. I’ve know Josiah since he was a wee tot! It’s been really neat to watch him grow….not only up(he’s like 6′ 4″ or something), but into a incredibly talented photographer. He was 16 when we first became friends, and even then, I knew he was going to do great things.
I will admit, even though we are friends, it is a little intimidating shooting for another photographer. There is always that pressure to perform! We had a great time roaming around looking for new place to shoot. Here are a few of my favorites.

Of course, I had to talk him in to snapping some of me!

This is a little last minute, but how about us all getting together next Thursday the 18th to hang out?  We’re going to meet at the Chateau in Monroe @ 7:00.  For those of you who don’t know where that is, let me know, and I’ll get you directions.  Bring your cameras and any fun lighting ideas you have, b/c we’re going to have a shooting assignment this time.  This should be fun!
If you plan on coming, please comment, so I’ll know how many to plan for.
Thanks!
Kelly

These two had a beautiful wedding on New Year’s Eve at the Rose Garden in Shreveport.  The weather was perfect, and they looked beautiful.  Melissa and I left out at 5:30 the next morning headed for the Virgin Islands.  We ran into Alisa & Neil in the airport on the way to their honeymoon…..I think I need to offer a package that includes me going on the honeymoon.  That wouldn’t be awkward, right:)
