I’m so glad that we made the trip to San Antonio to watch Patricia graduate. I was a little emotional. It’s just amazing all the people that dedicate their lives to protect us and insure that we stay a great and free country. Thank you Patricia, I couldn’t be any more proud of you!!
P.S. I really love your BCG’s(birth control glasses).

I’m leaving tomorrow for San Antonio, Texas to see my sister in law Patricia graduate from Air Force Boot-camp. I’m so proud of her for accomplishing this goal that she’s dreamed of for years. For me and the fam, it’s very bittersweet; we’re so proud, but also very sad because Patricia and my brother Ross will be moving to California. Patricia will be learning Arabic for the next 2 years in preparation to be a linguist.
We love you guys, and know that the Lord is going to bless you in all that you do!
P.S. I hope to post images from her graduation when I return

This past weekend, I shot Stephanie & Daniel’s wedding in Springhill, LA. I travel here about 2 times a year to shoot weddings, and let me tell you something, Springhill folks are serious about weddings. I think the rumor is that you can expect to have 1/2 – 2/3 of the people of you invite actually come to the wedding…….Springhill is the exception to the rule. Not only was it a completely packed house, but people were waiting at the doors to get in 45 min before the wedding started. These two were great to work with, and I hope it shows in their photos!

I thought for a minute that we might skip some of the absolute miserable hotness that we are so famous for in Louisiana. I was obviously wrong! I actually encourage people who want to shoot family or senior sessions to wait until the fall. Sometimes we don’t have a choice, though, and we have to brave the heat. I had the privilege of photographing Marcie Wednesday. It was unbearably hot, but she was a trooper!
Here are a few:

Here are a few from last nights wedding. Jennie has such a classic beauty, she is a dream to photograph. Shane……haven’t quite figured him out yet. He was sure to let me know he didn’t enjoy being photographed, though!
I was reminded this week, how wonderful it is to work with people like the Agguetants. They are laid back, kind, and make my job easy by trusting me completely as I captured their day.
These guys had been taking dancing classes, and did a great job strutting their stuff!
Thanks guys, I had a great time!

A few photographer friends and I were able to get together the other night and hang out. I always enjoy this b/c It’s great to be around other people who are as obsessed as I am about what they do! My poor hubby gets tired of hearing me talk about “new idea’s” and camera equipment, so It’s a treat to get to spend time with these guys. Of course the night ended with us pulling out our cameras and shooting.

Well, I’m back from vacation. It was so needed. No computers, no phones….just lots of movies, naps, sand, and putt putt. I’m now trying to talk myself back into working! I had really good intentions of working on some cool things while I was gone…..that didn’t happen! The only time I took the camera out was when my family randomly stopped on the highway to take some “family shots”, and I obviously didn’t take those. My family, we’re not really into white shirts and khaki’s. We’re more the dirty hair and mismatched clothes kind.
Also, did I mention I turned 28 today!!!!

Tomorrow morning, the fam and I are pulling out early headed for Perdidio Key, Florida. Once a year, we try to get away together to relax. This year, the whole family is able to come, so I’m really looking forward to it. I won’t be posting all week; the hubby is making me leave my computer at home. I’m hoping to get some fun stuff while I’m gone, so check back in about a week.
This past week went really well. After last weeks tears and troubles, this week, the Lord blessed us with peace. The computers are all running, we’re finally getting caught up on our work, and I got a new puppy! Kelly Boy isn’t really a dog person, so it took me about 6 months to talk him into getting one. I must say though, he is now completely smitten with her. If he is this bad over a fluffy pup, I can’t imagine how he’ll be when we have a baby!
I also wanted to say how proud I am of Kelly Boy. For those of you who don’t know, he is a pilot. He has spent the past 3 1/2 years pursuing flying as a full time career. It’s really hard to get started in that business, but he has continued to move ahead and not give up. He has spent the past month studying for his multi engine instructors test, and this past friday, he passed! He has been an instructor for the past year, but now he can instruct in airplanes with 2 engines. I just wanted to brag.
Below is a hodgepodge of images from this week. Thanks again for everyone who has been visiting my blog. Come back in a week for updates!
Talk about hard to catch!
